What to stop before surgery

Several everyday herbs affect blood clotting and anaesthesia.

Please noteHerbal supplements are usually stopped 1–2 weeks before an operation. Only your surgeon and anaesthetist can say when — do not start or stop anything on your own, tell them first.
Garlic

Reduces platelet stickiness, which can mean more bleeding during surgery.
