½–1 tsp ashwagandha powder in warm milk at night, taken steadily for six to eight weeks.
Documented
Ashwagandha has been through several controlled trials for stress and anxiety.
CautionIf you take thyroid medicine, do not take ashwagandha without asking your doctor — it raises thyroid hormone and can throw the dose off. Not in pregnancy. Its effect adds to sleeping tablets and sedatives. Stop it two weeks before surgery.
