Food Remedies
Main remedy
When a baby's teeth come through, gums itch and ache; loose stools and mild fever often follow. Gently rubbing the gums with a little honey soothes them and eases the tooth's path. Mashed ripe banana is cooling and easy on the gut. A softened piece of drumstick or a chilled (not frozen) washed carrot to chew gives safe counter-pressure. If stools turn loose, a spoon of buttermilk with a tiny pinch of dry-ginger (sonth) settles digestion. See a doctor for high fever, refusal to feed, or persistent diarrhea.
A drop rubbed gently on the gums with a clean finger, once or twice a day (only for babies above one year).

CautionNever give honey to a baby under one year — the risk is infant botulism. This rule has no exceptions.

Grapes · अंगूर
Two spoons of sweet grape juice daily while the teeth are coming through, to help them emerge easily and keep the baby cheerful. A little honey may be added for a baby over one year.
Traditional
A chilled washed carrot or softened drumstick to chew; gentle gum massage with a clean finger after each feed.
Keep a soft cloth for drooling and wash the chin to prevent rash; extra cuddles — teething babies sleep poorly.
